Job Description:
JOB TITLE: Senior System Engineer
REMOTE TYPE: Virtual Worker
JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard St. Dallas, TX 75202 [and various work locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]
DUTIES: Build an infrastructure engineering and operation platform based on site reliability engineering principles (SRE) and engineering principles for on-premise and public cloud systems across capacity management, chaos engineering, infrastructure operations, configuration, and performance management to support API led architecture. Lead a team of software engineers across infrastructure operations, capacity management, and configuration management. Collaborate with engineers on build, design, tune, and scale for on-premise and public cloud solutions. Ensure the team is on track to complete epics assigned for the current PI, remove blocks, resolve issues, and pre-plan for upcoming PI. Perform complex engineering activities including performance tuning, monitoring, deployment, and production support. Work with other leads, engineers, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to identify the technical and functional needs of systems based on priority. Serve as an escalation point for infrastructure delivery and operations. Utilize platform administration to build infrastructure, infrastructure resources, and capacity management. Build cloud computing platforms using automation tools. Work with developers to triage production bugs and to manage the queue of cases. Work with users and other support teams to troubleshoot production issues. Create infrastructure configurations and store them in repositories. Interface with clients, technology partners, testing groups, architecture groups, and analysis groups. Utilize platform administration to manage business groups, environments, user access, and integration application configurations and schedule. Deploy and configure integration applications in cloud and hybrid environments. Use hybrid deployment models. Write code for infrastructure automation using Ruby, Python, and Shell. Store scripts using Jenkins for deployment automation. Apply advanced knowledge of Unix, Linux, and OS environments. Configure APIs, proxy endpoints, API portals, and API analytics based on technical specifications with an API manager. Implement security using SSL, mutual SSL, SAML, and oAuth.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science or Information Technology and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing platform administration to manage business groups, environments, user access, and integration application configurations and schedule; deploying and configuring integration applications in cloud and hybrid environments; using hybrid deployment models; writing code for infrastructure automation using Ruby, Python, and Shell; storing scripts using Jenkins for deployment automation; applying advanced knowledge of Unix, Linux, and OS environments; configuring APIs, proxy endpoints, API portals, and API analytics based on technical specifications with an API manager; and implementing security using SSL, mutual SSL, SAML, and oAuth.
Our Senior System Engineers earn between $178,695 - $254,300 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
