Our AT&T Controller team, part of AT&T’s Finance organisation, is responsible for all Financial and Management Reporting, Accounting operations, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting Policy, Capital Services and Business Planning.
Due to a recent reorganisation, we are continuing to expand our International Centre of Excellence based in our new office location in Studley, near Birmingham. The team supports entities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) as well as Canada and Latin America (CALA) and Asia Pacific (APAC). We are hiring a talented individual who is newly or recently qualified and is likely to have trained within a large auditing & consulting company environment. Job Overview:
You’ll be an important member of the team responsible for all financial and management reporting, including the preparation and reporting of statutory accounts for over 80 AT&T legal entities spread across more than 60 countries in the EMEA, CALA & APAC regions, as well as the monthly reporting of financials to group.
Key Responsibilities:
- The external reporting of a portfolio of AT&T legal entities in the EMEA/CALA regions, ensuring all financial, tax and regulatory deadlines are achieved.
- The preparation of statutory financial statements, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the information presented.
- Ensuring AT&T's externally disclosed financial information complies with legal, regulatory, accounting and business requirements, presents the results clearly and accurately, and is relevant and beneficial to AT&T's interests.
- Managing and liaising with external auditors to ensure that cost effective and efficient statutory audits are achieved.
- Building relationships with, and the management of external accountancy outsourcers to ensure the accuracy and integrity of locally held ledgers.
- Building relationships with and collaborating with directors, auditors and colleagues in other AT&T functions both in the UK and overseas.
- Providing guidance to other internal AT&T organisations (e.g., Tax & Legal) on the development and interpretations of financial results and to lead process improvement efforts.
- Supporting SEC filings of the group through the management of an efficient and effective month end review process of the corporate US GAAP ledgers.
What qualifications do you need?
- New or relatively recently qualified accountant – (ACA qualified)
- A good working knowledge of international financial reporting
- A "hands on" approach together with the drive and enthusiasm to meet the challenges of the role.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Forward thinking and organised approach to their own work, project management
- Ability to demonstrate self-motivation.
- Ability to work as part of a large team, forging good relationships, and to communicate effectively.
- Foreign languages are not a pre-requisite, but Spanish would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of US GAAP is not a pre-requisite
Additional information:
Working time: UK working hours
Location: Studley, near Birmingham. This is a hybrid-flex worker position where you to be present in the office at least 2 times per week. During the initial training period we would expect you to spend more time in the office as you build your knowledge and get to know the team.
Salary: Basic salary starting from £50,000 per annum gross, plus benefits. The actual offered salary may be higher based on your skills, knowledge, and experience.
