Job Description:
This is a hybrid position with occasional visits to customer site in Washington, DC.

AT&T has an opening for a Cybersecurity Engineer - Senior. This role serves as an advisor on best practices and is responsible for designing and effectively implementing enterprise security strategies, architectures and solutions that guide and support network security direction. The candidate is accountable for the security architecture across a variety of applications or domains, to include cloud computing, and assigned to project/initiatives of large size, complexity, and risk. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer develops actionable security blueprints, principles, models, designs, standards, and guidelines to ensure enterprise information technology architecture and support is consistent, usable, secure and adds value to the security posture. Interacts with vendors, Information Technology, and organizational contacts to facilitate flexible, scalable, and cost-effective security solutions. Also provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers, analysts, and coworkers.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain a formal security posture that provides a logical structure for classifying and organizing security design elements to ensure a complete and usable security architecture that improves efficiency and risk mitigation of new or current systems or initiatives, to include cloud computing platforms.
• Manage the life cycle of all security technologies, to include maintenance, upgrades, enhancements, optimization and assess risk as part of the life-cycle analysis.
• Consult with senior engineers, data architects, and developers to ensure effective security is achieved across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Architects, prioritizes, coordinates, and communicates the choice of security technologies necessary to ensure a highly secure yet usable and flexible computing environment.
• Keeps current with security technologies and make recommendations for use based on value.
• Engages in the intake process for origination of projects to ensure alignment with strategic roadmap.
• Collaborates with other members of the technical architecture community to ensure successful implementation of security strategies that align and support the enterprise.
• Mentors cybersecurity engineers
Required Clearance
Able to pass police background check. (#clearable)
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and six (6) years’ experience in in cybersecurity engineering. Four additional years of related experience may substitute for degree.
• Hands-on experience with server management, virtualization, firewall, SIEM, penetration, vulnerability, and forensics tools.
• Experience in vulnerability management, incident response, data loss prevention, insider threat, system upkeep, and system/user lifecycle management.
• Strong knowledge of information technology architecture and topology design.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards implementation.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting language application(s).
Desired Qualifications
• Hands-on experience implementing secure cloud solutions.
• Relevant industry certifications or classes such but as not limited to:
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA),
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE),
- AZ-800 (Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure),
- AZ-801 (Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services),
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Security,
- CompTIA Server+, and
- DoD Service Occupational Specialty coursework.
Our Cybersecurity Engineer – Senior's earn between $98,100 - $175,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
